Sybil Shearer refused to allow photographs to be taken during her actual performances and let it be known that only Helen Balfour Morrison could photograph her. Later, persuaded of the importance of photographs and films, she allowed Helen to take photographs of her in her studio in costume. Thus there is a significant collection, largely undated and most probably taken between 1956 and 1972.
